Kanye comes for Apple, demands Tim Cook cut Tidal deal with Jay Z

Yes, it's that time again: Kanye West is using Twitter to talk to tech moguls and, like before, he's pretty amped. But this time, he's taking aim at the real king of tech: Tim Cook



In a series of tweets posted on Saturday, Kanye goes in on the heated competition between Apple Music and Tidal. The two companies have recently been the subject of rumors, with some reports hinting that Apple may be interested in acquiring Jay Z's streaming music site.  


"This Tidal Apple beef is fucking up the music game," wrote Kanye, in the first entry of his tweetstorm. "I need Tim Cook Jay Z Dez Jimmy Larry me and Drake Scooter on the phone or in a room this week!!!" Read more...

Samsung's Gear 360 gets all the basics right for a consumer 360 camera.


It's small, easy to use (for capturing and editing), the video quality is good (for a first-generation model) and it's affordably priced at $349.99.



The Gear 360 is not the first consumer 360-degree video camera - Kodak, Ricoh, LG and several other companies also make them - but it could be the most user-friendly.


That's saying a lot since this whole 360-degree video thing (also called 360 video or VR video) is still very new for us normals. Read more...

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki shares heartfelt thoughts on Christina Grimmie

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki joined the outpouring of condolences for 22-year-old musician Christina Grimmie on Saturday after she was shot dead by an unnamed gunman while signing autographs after a show in Orlando, Florida on Friday. After opening fire, her brother, Mark Grimmie, tackled the gunman, who then turned the gun on himself and died by suicide. 


Shortly after tweeting a news article about the shooting, Wojcicki followed up with another tweet, saying she was, "stunned and saddened to hear the news about Christina Grimmie. A true talent and an inspiration to so many."
